Since we’ve opened, we’ve been dedicated to changing the lives of people one person at a time, through martial arts, education and coaching. We strive to provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for all students and family members. We take pride in creating an environment for individuals to achieve, develop and succeed in their personal goals.
We strongly believe that martial arts can be for everyone, regardless of age, gender or experience levels. Throughout all of our programs, students will not only learn the necessary skill sets to protect themselves, we stand behind our realistic and practical approach, confident it will enable every member to achieve greatness and live their best life..

Corey Coffrin
Co-Owner
Senior Master Corey Coffrin began his Martial Arts training in 1983 and currently holds a 7th Degree Black Belt in Songahm Taekwondo and a Black Belt in Krav Maga. In addition to being a Nationally Certified Instructor, Senior Master Coffrin is on the ATA’s International Protech Team and also holds Protech instructor certifications in numerous weapons and systems. Senior Master Coffrin is child development expert and is a Certified Pediatric Ninja Specialist with SKILLZ worldwide.
He is Veteran of Operation Desert Storm and a retired Police Officer with over 24 years of Law Enforcement experience. He served as the Statewide Training Team for his department, teaching Law Enforcement Officers all over the State of Illinois.
In 2007 Senior Master Coffrin received the Journal Gazette, 20 Under 40 award recipient.
Elisha Coffrin
Co-Owner
Master Elisha Coffrin began her Martial Arts training in 1997 and currently holds a 6th Degree Black Belt in Songahm Taekwondo. In addition to being a Nationally Certified instructor, Master Coffrin holds Protech instructor certifications in numerous weapons and systems. She is a Certified Instructor in Bully Prevention, Child Safety and teaching children with Autism. Master Coffrin is a child development expert and is an Advanced Pediatric Ninja Specialist with SKILLZ worldwide.
Master Coffrin is a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship.
In 2024 she became the third African American Female to attain the title of Master Instructor in the ATA.
Dan Jorgensen
Head Instructor
Chief Master Dan Jorgensen began his Martial Arts training in 1981 and currently holds a 8th Degree Black Belt in Songahm Taekwondo and a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In addition to being a Nationally Certified Instructor, Chief Master Jorgensen Is on the ATA’s International Protech Team and also holds Protech instructor certifications in numerous weapons and systems.
He is a Six-Time World Champion, winning 3 titles in Traditional Form and 3 titles in Traditional Weapons. He was also awarded Outstanding Protech Instructor Award. He has also received the Region 114 Regional Achievement Award, Black Belt of the Year and served as their Regional Chief of Trainee Instructors.
Chief Master Jorgensen received his Bachelors Degree in Marketing from University of Northern Iowa.
Ethan Miatke
Instructor
Mr. Ethan Miatke began his Martial Arts training in 2017 and currently holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Songahm Taekwondo. He is a Level 1 Certified Trainee Instructor. He is also a Certified Instructor with SKILLZ Worldwide.
Mr. Miatke has been on the Honor Role every year and is an accomplished Saxiphone player for the NCHS band.
